Studies upon orchid mycorrhiza are conducted on biological department of MSU–BIT University. Mycorrhiza is a symbiotic relationship between fungi and plants which performs a sustainable partnership between these two groups of organisms and plays a significant role in all terrestrial ecosystems. Fungi are found in 98% of land plants species helping the latter to obtain mineral nutrients from soil. Orchids, known by their beauty and medical properties, cannot exist without fungal colonization in roots. Isolating fungal cultures and study of mycorrhiza is a significant step towards conservation of rare species and cultivation of ornamental orchids.
